We all use words. All day, everyday, we’re in a world that uses words to inform us. Move us. Shape us. Make us laugh. Make us cry. From the moment we are born, we are taught to understand what things mean so that when we grow up we will be able to clearly communicate with the world around us.*
What are we doing with this? — What is the message that we have to tell?
Each of us is equipped to spread a message. Not one that is small and unimportant, but one that is big…REALLY BIG! The story of stories. The big kahuna. The GOSPEL.
So we wanted to create a place for students to come and share their story with the world. Maybe one person will see this. Maybe you’ll post it on your Facebook to be shown to hundreds, even thousands! Either way, this is a place to learn. To share. To take up your cross. To hone your skills at clearly telling the world the good news of Jesus Christ.
The reason, inspiration, and heartbeat of this blog is found here in Ephesians chapter six.
“and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel,” Ephesians 6:19
Breakdown
Words: Paul is praying for words to be given to him so that he would have something to say. Not just any ole words but words that matter. Big words. New words. Words that made sense. Words that made people stop and think. So, with him we pray for words.
Opening My Mouth Boldly: Paul doesn’t just want to go about his life keeping this great secret. He must let it out! But what do you do when the world doesn’t want to hear what you have to say? What do you do when what you have to say isn’t cool? Do you say it anyway? If Jesus is who He says that He is, then we have to tell the world. Right? So with Paul, we want to boldly, confidently, compassionately!, and frequently speak the truth.
To Proclaim The Mystery Of The Gospel: The good news of Jesus is a mystery. I mean really, what does it mean that God so loved the world that He gave His only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life? It is hard to understand. So like Paul, we want to think, and think hard about how to explain/understand this great mystery.
